Only saw 1 deer all day but he was a dandy, wouldn't have hesitated to put my multi-season tag on him. Will be back after him tomorrow afternoon.

So I had a wedding to be at by 4:30... this means I have to get a deer by 12:15 or I would'nt have time to gut it and get it in the locker in time to make it. It was a slow morning other than a porcupine trying to climb the tree with me and three coyote sightings... none of which I could get a shot. One was at 4 yards the other two 75+. 12:15 rolls around and still no bucks. I call it a day and put my quiver back on the bow, lower the bow back to the ground. Next I take my harness off. Start to depart when I notice the split eyeguard 3 was walking my way.. oh snap. You know how hard it is to pull the bow back up to your stand while holding your breath and only working while the deer blinks?? Long story short, somehow I pulled it off and put a perfect arrow in the deer at 32 yards!

Nice looking buck! Looks like it was a nice day also. He'd make a beautiful velvet mount.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Sweet whitetail!  Nicely done!

Got a text pic from a buddy who's friend tagged a dandy 5x5 whitey.  I'd post it but it's not mine to share.

I saw a guy in a white pickup driving around the wheat field and then getting out on his cell phone walking into the bedding area and then back to his truck. He then drove around the field a little more before drving over to me and asking " Do you have permission to be here?" said yes and told him the land owners name to which he shot me a puzzled look and said he had gotten permission from a sombody else. So not only did he mess up my hunt but he didnt eve have "REAL" permission to be there. A steady month of having 3 to 4 bucks a night come into my stand and it all went to hell in a matter of minutes by some dumb ass :bash: :bash:. we will see what tonight brings.

On another note my brother had a coyote at 4 yards infront of his ground blind and he had his girlfriend shoot it. She spine shot it and it went out to 40 yards and was flipping and floping. My brother then shot it again. About 20 minutes goes by and he hears deer comming behind him and just as he starts to see them the coyote comes back to life and starts freaking out. The deer run off to the left but not before showing my brother that the 160+ inch 5x5 that he has been watching was with 3 other good shooters. The would have been at 20 yards. Note to self DO NOT shoot coyotes while deer hunting.

2012 so far has been sh!t.

That sucks...I was hunting private ground E of WW yesterday and had a similar incident...about 5:45 pm a pickup comes driving through a field slowly, glassing a bit...I stand up at the edge of the field where I was sitting and they drive off...it didn't seem to bother the deer as the same 9 bucks I have been seeing all came out...just about 100 yards out of bow range :(  I am concerned that doubling the number of multi-season tags has a bunch of idiots running around that usually rifle hunt and have no clue about bowhunting.
