Sons First Bear!

Between sports, family activities and HOT weather we were able to get out and do a little scouting and clearing some brush on an old clear cut to relax and wait for a bruin. We spent last sunday morning doing a little clearing and after dinner we decided to grab our chairs, some snacks and head out for the evening hunt...6:45 we arrive to our designated spot and we hear a crash on the other side of a big pile of brush. We set our chairs and gear down on the ground and the next sound we hear is a big sniffing sound...within seconds a bear steps out at about 10-15 feet, turns to look at us and then stands up on his hinds legs...I wisper to my son to take the shot BOOM! Bear down. 6:50 the work begins...makes a head shot at around 10 feet. Destroyed the skull
but has a nice white patch that will look great for his head mount
He is still walking in the clouds after getting his first bear, and as a father I couldn't be more proud it was awesome!
