why do I have this feeling that if by some weirdness his tag goes unfilled till he comes over this way. That I'll take him out show him the areas and the patterns that I know of. That evening he will come walking back grinning his (bleep) off, with one of the two bucks that I decided were the only ones I was going after this year?  :chuckle:

At least I can only take one :chuckle:. I am a strict meat hunter so if you wind up showing me areas for any deer. I will do as I am now and try to put the first legal deer down. I wont hold out for a trophy just want to feed the fam.

 you got it man, I was that way for years. This is my first year chasing a big one exclusively and its been driving me nuts sitting and watching  dinner walk around in front of me. From following your post I know I won't have to worry about you doing the right thing. If it happen where you hunt here, and the big guy screws up I fully expect you to make him pay.  :chuckle:

Hope you hit on Saturday.  I'm going out tonight.  A local clear cut here caught on fire last night.  They got it out last night and hopefully it's cooled enough to hunt by the end of the weekend.  I've heard and seen in multiple places where fresh burns are deer magnets because the deer eat the ash to get nutrients as well as roll around in it to remove ticks and fleas.  Don't know if it's true but I've seen and heard it enough to want to go see for myself.

Good luck, I am going out of town to watch the Hoquiam vs Aberdeen high school football game. I grew up in Aberdeen but graduated and played football for Hoquiam. Haven't missed a game in over 10years. But I look forward to pics, send them straight to my cell. If you don't put something down tonight maybe the two of us could help eachother out sat morning.

I got out Saturday morning and so did Justin.  Both had to quit early for family reasons.  I'll be out in the morning but I don't think Justin will be out until tomorrow night.

Ya, I got out for about 6 hours today. Spooked 4 but could never close the gap. THis time I really do not know what I did wrong. I know they couldn't hear me, or see me, and the wind was in my favor so I don't think they could smell me :dunno:.
I did however find out where they are going to bed down and the major trail with a great choke point. I was going to help my mom with some stuff tomorrow but I am going to set up on this choke point in the morning. I feel really good about it. I told my mom I will help her on monday when my daughter is in school since I can't hunt during that time anyway. I am sure, 100%positive, this spot will produce results. Maybe not tomorrow but it will. Fingers crossed. I will end this thread with pics here soon.

Not much of an update tonight. I spent 16 hours in the woods and when it started raining I got very excited but, I got NOTHING. I didn't even hear a doe snort at me. This is the first time all season that I have gone a whole day without seeing at least one deer. The only deer I saw today were in city limits and the doe Double J put in the dirt this morning. I sure hope things get better, although, I only get to hunt the evening during the week.
