I'll put him in the back yard and let him go nuts :chuckle: :chuckle: tonight 6 does,3 fawns(off limits, period end of discussion there) small 3x3 which I watched for a hour and half after stocking to 15 yards, 4x4 smaller side, large bodied fork horn

1.  He'll have one by then, probably by the time I get off work tomorrow

2.  I'm going to Tonasket in late Sept for my deer and riding with Buckmark.

3.  When I go to Latah with my boys and pick up mr user and stopping by your place, it's going to be modern and he has an archery tag.

Logistics just won't work out but, refer to #1

Great thread aka.  I keep checking back for the "I done did it" post.
Keep at it, you'll have your tag punched shortly!   :)

My last year bow hunting I made a rookie mistake. Me and a buddy were hunting a spot that we had been hunting for about 2 years. It was early archery and it was getting warm like to the point where we about to call it quits for the day. We figured we would give it another hour and move into a clear cut in the GMU we were hunting and sure enough we spooked 2 doe. However they were about 80-90 yrds out, just to far out of bow range. Me and my buddy decided to just sit  for awhile and wait, maybe they will come back. Here is the mistake I made I found a rather large rock to sit on in the brush, I set my bow down to get comfortable :bdid: and out the corner of my about 25 to 30 yrds out give a take a doe sprang up and hauled you know what away from us :bash:. My buddy didnt even see it because he was busy looking off in the other direction where we had seen the other 2.

Lesson learned. Never set your weapon of choice down when hunting. That should have been meat in the freezer. Since then we always hunt that area and we have seen deer there but never any success. I swear the deer are still laughing about that whole rookie mistake I made.

Lesson learned.  If you don't learn something from every trip into the woods, you need to pay better attention to what you're doing.

If I don't put one in the dirt by next friday, I would be willing to take you up on that offer.  I can throw my butt into my own truck and head over.

 just let me know if and when you need it. For a meat hunter I have two different honey holes right now that are any deer, 1 stand, 1 ground blind setup, and lots of land to spot and stalk. Also sounds like double j needs to drop his truck off for the time he is here so I can get it all fixed for him  :chuckle: :chuckle:

I'm gonna keep hunting here for a while but I will send you a pm maybe next thursday night if I don't get something down before then. Already talked to the boss about it and she said that would be fine. I wouldn't be able to get over there until late next friday night.

My nightly update...

Nothing much to talk about tonight. At first light I bout run into a doe but I wasn't ready, still had all arrows in the quiver, and she slipped away. Tried to stalk her but couldn't cut her off. Got within my range on another doe that had no Idea I was there just as I was about to lay the smack down on her a fawn started jumping playing. So I let down and watched as they walked away. Got real hot real early so I headed home to spend some time with my little one. Went back in after dinner and got setup in what I thought (and still think) was a killer spot. About 730 caught something out of the corner of my eye. Another doe, flicking her tail and cleaning herself. I watched her for about 5 mins waiting to see where she was headed. Once she did move I realized she wasn't going to come my direction. I was able to get down unnoticed from where I was and began trying to cut her off. I got into position and was ready. Then there was a real loud bang that spooked her causing her to run off with about 2 mins of light left (at least I didn't spook her) Another night done an still have this tag burning a hole in my pocket.

why do I have this feeling that if by some weirdness his tag goes unfilled till he comes over this way. That I'll take him out show him the areas and the patterns that I know of. That evening he will come walking back grinning his (bleep) off, with one of the two bucks that I decided were the only ones I was going after this year?  :chuckle:
