You could try Abels Ridge just south of Pomeroy.  Not far from there is Huckleberry butte, and the teal springs area, get out on the FR 4022 area and look around.  Lots of deer and elk around.

If you've got a little more time to scout around than try around Hompegg Falls (southeast of Dayton)  This can be good back over towards forest rd 46.  Lewis creek, little tucannon area.  There are some huge bucks in there, you just have to put in a little time. Then a little further south you might try looking around Chase Mountain.

That is toooo funny...  I tip my hat to your friend.    He has a great sense of humor.   Heck leave the name that is a classic name...

Well we went ahead over to the Blues without a clue of where or how to hunt it. Hunted around Bluewood Ski area the first few days. Saw a ton of elk and a high number of deer, one buck gave me the slip. Second camp was closer to Dayton, again saw horns , but the shot wasn't there. Third hunt was south of Pomeroy around the fire lookout without any luck, although I did see a moose of all things! All in all a good week of hunting, seeing a high number of deer and elk. Just need to put in enough time to learn the area and how to hunt it.
The worst day hunting is better than any day at work!
