Local Radio
Our local radio station (KCVL 1240 am) just reported another 3rd wolf was caufght and collared on the Colville Reservation. They also said the tribe wplanned to release their wolf management plan by the end of the year. I found the following printed news stories about the wolves they have captured.

I talked to one of the higher ranking game wardens for the tribe a few times, and some of their wolf research guys

sounds like they getting pretty pro-active on it.  Told em I was hoping they would pave the way on wolf management and wished em luck

I have high hopes for the CCT

I think hunting might survive on the upper portion of their ceded area just because they will be thinning the herd.  :twocents:

Not sure where on the rez they have those wolves, but while hunting this week in unit 101, I came across a mushroom surveyor for the forest service that just had his dog attacked by a black wolf and a grey wolf.  He was a little shook up over it and was lucky they didn't kill his dog.  His dog had bite marks and he also found what he believed to be a calf spine that still had red meat on it!

Mark,
Are they moving up to the north half yet ? I think I've seen wolf crap near Hardscrabble and Bodie Mtns just right north of Republic.

I've actually seen 2 wolves near Beaver Canyon 3 years ago near those 2 mountains right off the highway in a ranchers field I know. I reported them to our WDFW and they didn't even care about the sightings. Go figure huh !!!
