I didn't think they opened them tags this  year in Idaho

The tags are good from August 1st- December 31st. Then ya gotta get a new license and tag.

Just South of Republic, up Scatter Creek rd. There's 3 lakes, some camping sites and a lot of trails and good hiking/hunting areas. I stopped hunting there a couple years ago because on opening day I found more fresh gut piles than I saw deer.
The first bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.

That area is hit really heavy by everybody and their brother.
