My 8 year old daughter's 1st buck. She did a awesome job on a 3/4 mile stock in the rain to beat the clock and she had to shoot standing...heart shot at 50 yards!

Very cool what caliber? My daughters love hunting, oldest will be 7 in January and I'm wanting to get her a rifle. Been thinking a compact Ruger M77 16.5" barrel in 243 with Sims recoil pad and 3-9 Leupold  :dunno:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Watched a small 2pt. disappear over a hill then looked back to where he had jumped up from and saw this one standing motionless watching me.  He watched me line up on him and put a good shot on him at about 80 yards.  My cousin shot a similar buck 3 minutes later and we we're tagged out by 10:30 opening morning.  Anticipate it for a year and it's gone in a morning!

  Congrats to your son!  Good looking buck.  It was a great morning for hunting... was wishing I didnt have to work.  Set it up to have my time off on the last weekend.

Little WA buck from Saturday.   3rd time I had seen him that day - he was just begging for it.   :chuckle:

You pulled the trigger? Wierd...

Why put down your own buck, especially when its a dandy washington buck :dunno:

Agreed. You don't get cool points for telling everyone it's "a little buck" or a "dink" when it's obviously a good buck. Just present it as is. Most guys, including me, would be very happy with that buck.

Im guesing he went about 130 dressed and hanging. I know he felt pretty stout dragging him out which took about 5 hours.
