You may have sort of answered your own question.... partially

Seems they are dang near everywhere in Idaho, but I would think that the areas with the highest kills will now have less of them! Right?

Or at least the ones that are left in those areas will be much smarter afa hunters are concerned.

Fishhook Creek had a detour, so I went over Marble Creel to Clarkia. Boy oh boy, is that thick, steep hunting. I couldn't of shot one if I saw it. I could only see what was on the road for a half second...
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I sure wish they'd say exactly where in Idaho. The game dept said St. Maries area had the highest rate of wolves killed last year. I didn't see squat there. I still want one bad !!

Find out where the highest concentration of prey is (elk, deer, cattle) and that should be where the wolves are for any given GMU. :twocents:

That's what I was told. The elk haven't come down to the winter range in that area yet. I'm just waiting. I have a friend in Stites who is begging me to come down there and hunt them. I told him I thinks it's been too warm to really try and call them or whatever it will take to put a 6.5 Creedmoor in one... I have till 12/31 before I have to buy a new out-of-state license and tag.

Weipee to Elk City to Dixie and up to the Mt border hold a bunch of Wolves. Hopefully the wolves that killed the bear hounds up in there will get theirs.

Wow I didn't realize how many wolves Wisconsin and Minnesota had that many wolves. I figured Idaho would be leading the pack. No pun intended.

just got back this afternoon from idaho and our camp of 12 heard them about every day but unfortunately no sightings. it was low 20's most of the week but when i talked with my dad about 1 pm he said it was almost 50 degrees in town and most of the snow had melted so it might be awhile for the animals to head down to winter

Thanks for the info. I have a trapper friend that isn't an Idaho resident ( Washington resident ) and he can trap wolves all day long in Idaho. I'd double, triple check on that if I were him.

Well ya know, that's why they offered out-of-state trapping courses. Who exactly told him, the Idaho game dept ?
