Bass fishin'?

Howdy!
Just wondering if anyone here bass fishes on here on the "wet" side of the state?  I've been out of it for a while and would like to get back in.  I use to tournament fish 15-20 years ago but havent taken it seriously in at least 10.  I'm ready to dust off the old Skeeter and give it a go.  Anyone else do much bass fishing?

Unless you get an answer from someone on this site I'd suggest calling your local fish and game office and ask for some information. I know that the locals in Darrington fish for bass in some of the ponds and lakes near them but have not done so myself.
Also try www.washingtonlakes.com   This site is OK not too current at times but it does allow one to gather the needed intel for a trip. Good luck and please post your results along with pictures of the catch.

Before I retired and moved to Clarkston I fished alot for bass on the west side. Big lake up north and Silver down in Cowlitz county for Largemouth. Lk Stevens and Sammamish for smallies. Would launch at Samm and run up the east side and one guy would drag reapers in 15-25 ft while the other cast grubs around the docks. Used to do pretty good but the fishing started to slow down around 2001. Fished Stevens by dragging deep. One of these day's I would like to get back there and fish Big lake again. If the bass slowed the crappies seemed to be always be biting.

polarbear-my buddy did good last year in lake samammish and lake washington. once it starts warming up, i'll be out there with him.
i think silver lake down south is the place to be down that way...big bass coming out of there lately.
let me know if you want some more info on the big lakes.

I have only caught decent bass in two different lakes on the westside.  1 lake in Snohomish and 1 in skagit county.  The lake in Snohomish i had to catch alot of small ones to finally bust over 5 pounds.  The one in Skagit county i have had some really good days in.  Both lakes are really small.  Lake Gardener and Grandy Lake.

Lake Sammamish is fun and has some great smallies/large mouth bass, but it gets busy in the summer (skiers wakeboarders, etc)....luckily, I live on the lake and launch from my front yard (although it is just a kayak.). North end of the lake there is plenty of logs/cover to fish and the far south west of the lake has an old sunken forest (ancient landslide) where bass hang out too.

Pbear, Here on the wet side there are a few good bass lakes, Long Lake in Port Orchard, Kapowsin also has some, Mayfield (love this lake), Samammish, gets extremely crowded. Washington produces good size biggys and even more smallys.
Most of the small lakes will have bigmouth. Finding one that is not hit hard is another story, LOL.

You know, you might want to try Sunday lake in snohomish county. It is by Stanwood, just off of I-5. I used to fish there when I was younger, but havent actually been out on the water in years there. They used to have large crappies, bass, catfish, etc...was a smaller, but fun lake. I have been thinking about hitting it with my kayak to give it a shot. Motor boats used to be allowed on it, but I would check again with the regs to make sure. There is a small boat launch on the southwest end of the lake...pretty primative, but it works...just an idea. If nothing else, there is plenty of bass cover/habitat for sure. Good luck.

Big lake........ I've got a pond and own the South end of Olsen Lake near Arlington. It's too hard to get to the lake now, they built a house on the only access point, and you can't get thru 200 yards of flooded woods and bog thanks to the hords of beaver. But there are some HUGE largemouth in the lake. It's about 30 acres. I've got a 12 acre pond that connects to Lake Olsen that is accessable but all I ever catch are Black Crappie and a occasional cutthroat. But I've seen some big bass jump. I haven't planted any fish in there for around 10 years, now. Twin lakes in Smokey Point has some lunkers you can see on the North side of the southern most lake.
