Peaches Archery Bull Tag
« on: September 08, 2012, 07:36:34 PM »
Well archery elk season finally arrives so I been spending morning and evenings out in my stand waiting for a cow or spike bull, Im not a fan of hunting in 80 degree weather but its hunting and I been waiting all year to get out, my buddie drew the peaches ridge bull tag and has a nice bull comming into his tree stand, the other day he left his stand 30 minutes before this bull came in, almost as if it sensed he had left, its been so hot and dry that the bulls havent started bugling yet, just getting started and very quite and week, hoping for a weather change that will convince this bull to go full on rut, what do you all think this bull scores?

The bull that I spotted looked like and smelled like he was in full rut mode! I also hope the weather turns cooler and a little rain would be good too.

Nice bull, they been bugling pretty good the first hour of light in the little naches. Cooler weather is on the way and this rain should sure quiet it down a bit.

Just an FYI its not Tue weather that will fire him up. It could be 20* and if no cows are coming into estrus he won't be going crazy. On the other hand if its hot and all sorts of cows are coming into estrus the bulls will be singing a symphony.

You can create the illussion of cows coming into estrus with cow in estrus calls, and since your hunting out of stands using some commercial scents along with the calls can get the bulls going.

Just got back from lil naches unit, hearing the bulls bugeling. Droped into cougar valley/crow creek lake and was hearing and smelling elk down in there.
