My new truck gun
« on: September 08, 2012, 09:19:38 PM »
started out as a stock SPS tactical

had the barrel shortened to 16" added a Manners GAT stock
CDI DBM with AICS .223 mags
Delta P design Brevis compact suppressor
factory (crappy) xmarx pro tigger for now
swapped the scope it now wears an SWFA FFP 5x20 mil/mil

shoots the 69smks pretty well
I started dry heaving and gagging so bad. I about puked up my daily dose of Redbull.

Beautiful gun... maybe some day I can afford one...
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Speaking of truck guns, here's mine I made from parts laying around in my shop.
Rem 700 BDL 223. I cut and threaded the 24" barrel to 16 and spun my Getec M-4 on.
Factory trigger set at 2#'s. Scoped with whatever I'm not using at the time. Looks like a Nikon when this picture was taken.  I'll be following Fuzzy's blazing path into the known and putting a PTG bottom metal on before hunting season.
Can't find any target pictures but it keeps 60 grain BT's in a MOA.

Sometimes I wonder if this is a tryst or if you guys actually don't like each other. I guess it's more of a quad thing whenever rbros gets on. I for one wouldn't want to get on biggers bad side. Dude's got life pretty figured out. Even if he does come off as kind of curt sometimes.  :chuckle:

Hahaha! There are plenty of guys in this state and even on this board that are very successful in the field and it's not due to the fact they can't shoot or hunt.   I guess they don't need to pat each other on the back on a range and tell each other how great of a shot they are. Nothing wrong with competition for those that choose to do so, it makes the world go round and keeps it all in balance.

None of this makes any difference to me, when I can buy a tikka  for 5-600$ that outshoots 2-3 thousand dollar guns consistantly, any ones beefs about 'plastic' or anyother petty bull *censored* means nothing.
Play your "puking" childish crap, prove you can do better for the same money, no "working up loads" grab a tikka and a decent scope(even a Nikon peice of crap) and a box of federal cheap bluebox, and shoot under MOA consistantly in any cartridge, with any of them.
That is the bottom line and your funny faces mean nothing. I have been shooting for 50 years and am amazed at the Tikkas. Lots of other companies are doing better lately, spurred on  by Tikkas success. Look at the "new" TC Venture rifle, looks a lot like a Tikka to me. old fashion or new, they flat out work!

Hey Bofire,

I never said they didn't shoot, I said I didn't like them.  I don't know if you're trying to convince me to like them or just reminding me that they shoot, which I already know. Now I may not be the only one to probably disagree with your remark of the Tikka's will out shoot 2-3k customs. 2-3k with a quality smith gets you a fairly competitive rifle. With no funny faces Bofire, I think Tikka's suck and I can care less what you shoot.

Most, if not all people don't have $2000- $ 4000 laying around the house for a rifle unless they live at home, plus another $ 2000 for a scope. I wish, but that's not the real world.
