new toy! .45 1911
« on: September 09, 2012, 01:12:16 PM »
my first .45.  was scoping out the Scorpion at the gun store, but the price was JUST out of reach.  This taurus has a great reputation and a ton of features you normally pay more for, so i gave it a shot!  good choice!  this thing is a shooter!  put about 100 rounds through it and VERY happy with it.  my neighbor makes 1911 grips (xcaliber-grips dot com) so we did dress-up until we found what fit the gun and me best!  i think the blue looks killer!  now i need to come up with a good holster...

That looks like a real gun, not a toy.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

No need to double with a 45  Nice pistol I like the grips myself
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

the guys at Sharp Shooting gave me their opinion on taurus.  revolvers=good.  semi-autos=ok.  1911's=great value for the money.  i know it's not a kimber or les baer, but for what i need, this pistol just works!   :IBCOOL:  it's such a *censored*-cat to shoot.  i'm a happy guy!
