I have the Citori Special trap which I believe is the same gun.   It’s bullet proof.  Many thousands of round though it without a single issue.  Fit & finish is flawless, feel and balance is great.  The only negative I can think of is it has ported barrels.  That’s not really a negative but the ports don’t really do anything.

The XT traps are very nice shotguns. Does the one you are looking at have the adjustable comb? If you are looking at an XT combo, that is even better! My two :twocents:, Shoot one before you purchase. To big of an investment to go into without knowing if you and the gun get along. ( I almost learned the hard way with an SKB Combo). Quite a few Moses Lake members shoot trap with the XT, and would gladly let you try one out. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the replies. Haven't shot one yet. But the dealer I know will loan me one to shoot. I found a combo set for $2500, good deal?

32" over/under, and  34" single? YES, that is a good deal if it is brand new. I have seen used XT combos go for that. Give one a try, and see what happens! If you shoot it well, an XT would be a great trap gun.

Yep 32" over/under and 34" single. It is used though, I would like a new set. Would go for used in great/good shape. What would be a good price on a new XT combo. I think I will try to borrow one this weekend or the next and shoot it. Sorry for all the questions, I sold a Valmet 412 last year that I did not like it, I had it for a long time, kick the s>>> out of me.

I think if the XT combo is in good shape, and tight, it is worth the $2500. Always offer less to begin! Also, look at the lever that breaks open the gun, if when closed it angles off to the right, that is good. You dont want it if it angles to the left, unless you are willing to get it to a good gun smith and have it tightened up. I shot a Velmet for a while, it was a great shotgun. Broke some good scores with it. We put a mercury recoil reducer in it, and it was ok.
