I have swiched to green dot, it seems to pattern 1 1/8oz load s better.  Yesterday, I broke a 94 in the Handi, shot off against an All Amreican for runner up, and lost by one target.  As much as I enjoy loading with my Lee, I am looking for a Mec, or a Ponsness/Warren.

Hmmm, interesting, I may have to try it. I first started using Unique then switched to Red Dot, but now I only use Clays. After switching I noticed Clays seems alot cleaner & not as 'explosive' or hot as the other two. But I have a bunch of Unique & American Select now so I plan on using that up before I buy any more, might as well and save money. Maybe then I'll try the Green Dot. It is slower burning and softer than Red Dot right? I though it was mainly for 20ga. And yeah, I really liked me Lee too - that is until I loaded a round with this MEC!  :chuckle:
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

I know breaks are not graded, but I noticed I could consistanly make smoke balls out of targets with new shells. I got good breaks using Clay Dot, but I did not see the smashing smoke balls with my Clay dot load. I shot 8lbs of Clay dot and did really well with it. The patterning thing just kept a little question in the back of my head. So, I tried some green dot and am consistantly getting crushing breaks like I do with new shells. I am now a Green Dot fan! I still have 6 or 7 lbs of clay dot that I will use up over the years, I had just bought a new keg! I held a 96.2 16yd average this year using clay dot, but I am glad to swich to green dot due to the lower pressures, a bit softer recoil, and better pattern.
