Northern Mist longbow
57# @ 28"
Wood arrows with Zwickey 2-blades

Need to start shooting more, and where I live is not conducive to shooting in the back yard, off the deck etc., like my previous home.

Anybody have any comments on the 3D club on Whidbey by the NAS?  Comments appreciated.

I bought a Bowtech 82nd. airborne a few weeks ago. Right now I'm planning on shooting it mainly for 3-d. I still use my axis 400 arrows but they are a little undersplined for this bow. It's way different than my Mathews in the way that out to 40 yards there is very little arc. It's taking a little while to get used to it but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I just upgraded and bought a Bowtech General, I shot the 101st and it sure made a loud popping sound when it was shot does the 82nd do that too?

I use a whisker biscuit, alpine 5 arrow quiver, easton axis arrows, and a copper john deadnuts sight 7 pins with the fiber optic wrap. IMO that sight is the best bang for the buck if you are looking for something more affordable than the Spot Hoggs.

My 82nd seems to be very quiet. I haven't shot any of the other Bowtechs. The design of the General series looks very interesting.

I shoot a Mathews Ignition, 40-50 lbs. (yes, youth due to my short draw length of 24), Easton Axis 500, Spott Hog, 5 pin., Trophy taker.  Having a delima with using a range finder that I actually don't like and then packing  binos.  I would really like to find a combination of both without spending alot of money.   Haven't found it yet, but still looking.

Let us know when you find one!  I have the same thoughts about carrying both!

BookwormsWife, how is that Ignition working out for you? My wife also has a 24" draw and our local bowshop also recommended that bow. I've been thinking about getting one for her.

Bookworm,

I think the reason the 101st made that sound is because they had the speed mod on the bow instead of the smooth mod. You can choose between both, I am not sure what I got on my general but it is super quiet and has no kind of vibration or hand shock what so ever. Not as smooth of draw as the mathews. I also shot a hoyt katera, that was a real nice bow also.
