Definately Griz. Bait barrel not legal so it must have come from another state.  Must not be a personal photo. Looks photshopped. Shadowing is wrong. Since when do shadows take a 22.5 degree turn. Look at the bottom of the tree.

bait barrels are legal for photos only  :dunno:
ok based off the drum, guessing a standard 55 gallon, drum would be 33.5 inchs tall, takes about 3 drums for the bear so its only 8'3"

Yes they are for photos but do people really do that just for photo's??? :dunno:

Doesn't matter anyway, I still say it's photshopped. Another indicator ....look at the branches at the hump on his back. Branch stems don't line up. Plus they are clearly in front of him but not casting a shadow on him. Plus the branches running through the verticle shadow on the bear are lit up with sun, they would be shadowed as well not just the shadow on the bear.

never said it was a WA pic  :chuckle: :chuckle: plus they can bait on the rez as well... as far as the photo shop  :dunno: the angle of the tree shadow is funky but then again it has all the shadows on the face from the branches above correct, plus the foliage around the legs correct... just seems odd that someone would do that good of job on the branch shadows and foliage just to blow the tree shadow  :dunno:

What about the branches not shadowed but extend into the verticle shadow on the bear? If the shadow is being cast on the bear, the ends of the branches running through that shadow should not be lit up with sun. Not saying for sure. I could have the angle of the sun wrong. I'm no prfessional photoshop detector, it just doesn't seem lagit to me, that's all.   :twocents:

A lot of times when people photoshop something they sign it somehow, it might be initials somewhere, and sometimes it's profile pictures like the zoomed pic below might be.  I'm not saying it is for sure but looks like one to me.

I'll tel you what; if you want to shoot this bear, you don't like hunting anymore.  There is no doubt about it beign a grizz.  Shadows be damned, the bear is a no shooter.  Take the bear ID exam, from Montana, which has been plaedon this site, many times, before you line a bear, like this one, up in your sights.

Just the same, a nice bear.  :twocents:

 :yeah:

I don't believe how many people actually think this is a shooter bear. It is in fact a grizz. I really can't believe some of the people on here can not tell the difference between a color phase black bear and this one........A grizzly bear.  Come on people..... :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
