elk location

will elk be around the same area during archery season as modern or do they migrate to different areas during different times of the year. Im talking about west side elk. i know that rockys typically migrate down out of the snow? if you were in them really thick during archery and you couldnt go back till opening day of modern would you go back to where you left them?

My opinion is that west side elk are territorial, and are impacted by human encroachment far more than weather.
