My wife gets to come this year!!
« on: September 11, 2012, 08:33:26 PM »
I am so excited right now! My wife of 5 years grew up in a hunting / fishing family but has never really been hunting, she's just heard the stories from her grandpa and myself and seen loads of pictures. We have dinked around 'hunting' on day trips, that's about it. We have done a ton of fishing together and she loves that! Her grandpa passed away last December and she was so sad, he was her hero, her grandma made sure she got his favorite orange hunting vest. Then we lost her grandma 6 months later to cancer, that was devastating, it has been a rough year for her to say the least!

We have not been able to coordinate days off / babysitter / dog sitter / house sitter since we've been together so she has not tagged along on a serious hunt yet, but this year she gets her first taste! I am only hunting elk for the first 4 days of the MF season, so it will be a good introduction for her and a fun experience, she will get a taste of what her grandpa was talking about and experiencing all those years! I am thrilled!

I am so blessed to be sharing my life with this lady and any time we get a chance to do something together like this I know full well it is going to a great time regardless of what happens, she is adventurous, fun loving, has a wonderful sense of humor, she is always positive and has been one amazing influence on my life!

So keep an eye out this season and If you see us out there give her a wave, just look for the silver F-350 carrying the biggest smile on the mountain  :) :IBCOOL:

  I've been hunting with my wife the last couple years, couldn't imagine going without her, she loves getting out in the woods and is as excited about it as I am.  Glad you got your schedules worked out, have fun!

good for both of you! one of my best friends grew up here in NE WA in a hunting family but only took up hunting in the last few years to spend more "quality" time with her dad, it's a decision you & she will be glad you made. my wife & daughter go on every trip they can & this weekend is mostly for my little girl since she has volleyball games or practice everyday forever.
good luck to you both this season & many more in your future!

You too will have a great time together. My wife and I have been deer hunting the last 5 years together. She can shoot better than me and has better eyesight. She has taken too nice mule deer. Good times for sure. The best part is snuggling up to someone who smells good at night. Good luck take lots of pictures and have fun.
I love watching her get so excited.

Ha ha, same here with the eyesight! She is great at spotting critters, just doesn't know if she can shoot one and I would definitely be the cleaner/butcherer! I can't even get her to gut a trout....yet. :chuckle:

Thanks again guys, she just read all the comments before heading to bed, she is very excited  :)

Congratulations, I hope you guys have a great time.  When I started dating my wife she was the hunter and right away she said "if this is going to work you have to come hunting with me"  I did and we have been enjoying every minute of it since.  The only problem is buying two of everything, two bows, two sets of binos, two sets of camo.....and I am sure the WDFW loves us.  Good luck and enjoy.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
