 good point about meeting them at a bow shop yeti, on top of having them look it over. Shoot the bow yourself before you buy it. Everyone is different and some people like some bows, others don't. Like me and hoyt every hoyt I shoot I get popped in the forearm  :dunno: just something about me and hoyt don't mix, any other bow I'm good to go, but a hoyt it's always whack followed by a curse word

thanks wonky  :hello: ok so i traded for one tonight for me, not a penny spent so its all good even if its a not so great beater, i look at it like at one point it WAS considered up there with the greats so it must be worth using even if that was, happened to be 10 years ago or something.

Bear Whitetail II- currently at 32" draw, 70# weight.   came with graphite arrows camo'd out, and a few practice ones, a wrist strap & release, and a deer call and a elk call. all for trade for a older RC car that my son dont use anymore, im cool with it  :IBCOOL:

Wow, 32" is a really long draw length, hopefully you have long arms, or if not, hope the bow is adjustable down to whatever you need.

so i have a big, probably dumb, Q about archery hunting regs. i live in covington, thats in GMU454, which is open now, and our area is crawling with deer n elk. If i see one standing in my backyard, and since its not considered a firearm discharge in city limits, can i legally drop him right there?

sorry if this is VERY stupid question but i have not hunted in 30 years, and that was in the backwoods of Tennessee , trying to relearn all the regs.

Doubt you are going to drop the animal right there with a bow. I would be careful, depending on how large your property is. Deer and especially elk will more than likely travel a ways after poked with an arrow. You wouldn't want to lose an animal because it expires on someone else's property that won't allow you to retrieve it...

Just something to think about! Good luck and good on you getting the girl out archery hunting! You will love it as well!

:yeah: If you stick one and it goes to another property, knock on the door to get permission before you go on the property. You have the right to retrieve the animal but not to trespass. If the owner won't let you on you will have to call the game dept to get it. Most people don't want a injured or dead animal on their property so they will let you get it. I always offer some of the meat to the land owner and usually make a friend out of it. :twocents: As far as if you can shoot, I would suggest you call the game dept, local sheriff and local police. Some places have a no projectile zone. Good Luck

My son got the Diamond Edge last year and has practiced a lot with it.  We have been out for turkey several times but he hasn't connected yet.  It seems like a great bow.  It allowed him to increase the poundage without too much difficulty and we recently took it in to the archery shop in Everett and they really helped us out a lot to get the draw length readjusted and cut some new arrows for him.  It has been a lot of fun.  But it has also taken a lot of time to get set up.

OMG, you got the bow I got rid of in 1993 or so....  Hope it works out but a 2" draw length difference is quite a bit.  That thing had no back wall if I remember correctly.  Good luck on your archery adventure, and have fun.
