so i have a big, probably dumb, Q about archery hunting regs. i live in covington, thats in GMU454, which is open now, and our area is crawling with deer n elk. If i see one standing in my backyard, and since its not considered a firearm discharge in city limits, can i legally drop him right there? sorry if this is VERY stupid question but i have not hunted in 30 years, and that was in the backwoods of Tennessee , trying to relearn all the regs.

I would be careful, depending on how large your property is. Deer and especially elk will more than likely travel a ways after poked with an arrow. You wouldn't want to lose an animal because it expires on someone else's property that won't allow you to retrieve it...Just something to think about! Good luck and good on you getting the girl out archery hunting! You will love it as well!
