Access to east from 410
« on: September 12, 2012, 07:25:56 AM »
Was over on a short scout(seemed like around the whole state) and went to some old stomping ground Rock creek and it's washed out, and of course the forest service can't fix the road. So went up the road a bit and took the first next right, with no map in hand(didn't plan on being in this part of the road system) nice area but dead end. Is the Bald mountain road open and can one get to the rock creek area that way and other area's in the part of the mountain with inter connecting roads that are open, like coming out the Wenas?

Thanks I'll do a little mapping and get back to you. I may try to get back over again before the season. Man this really brings back memories of hunting with my dad and brothers. Kinda gets sad too when you realize that me and one brother are all thats still around. Guess that is what comes from getting older.

I hear you!  My dad is old now and my grandparents have long sence gone.  My kids are all in college and my wife doesnt hunt.  What is really too bad is that my Elk hunting buddys will not hunt Elk anymore unless they draw a good tag here in WA.  SO....I need new hunting buddies....rtspring and I are meeting next week and hunting the following week.  I hope we are like minded as far as hunting goes!

Well we did hear a little bugling and saw fresh tracks both east side and west side of 410. Son was playing with a bull with the sound going over my head so I started the foxpro(with the maybe a yote might be near as I was bored) and that was the end of the bull talk. Going to try and talk the wife into going over next week and check things out again, with a more indepth look at a couple areas. And see where to or not to camp up the hill. Anyone got a camping spot with water for a shower in a bag? Might just be able to scare the heck out of a grouse too.
