I really have no idea. All the state and federal ground is gonna be over run now.

A buddy of mine killed a small bull monday near raymond... said there was actually a couple green dot roads there, assuming its just the main lines.

Fyi I have only been seeing elk in the dark timber with the heat I think hunting clearcuts, and such are a losing proposition.

FYI,  You may not want to hunt on Monday as the season closes the 16th, which is Sunday.

Just remember Weyco doesn't have to let you hunt their land at all.  With as many fires as there are in the state right now who can blame them.  One of the reasons I do not hunt archery.

What land did weyco close?  Are any other areas closing before season ends? Is there a Hancock fire danger hotline?  Thanks

I guess all of Weyerhaeuser is closed now, even Aberdeen/Raymond area.

I just called the hotline.

State and National Forest land will be crowded this weekend, especially areas with good numbers of elk.

not to mention visibility is about 100 yards because of all the smoke.  Makes for an interesting last weekend.

Actually Aberdeen/Raymond IS open, they are only closing it to motorized vehicles.

I suspect the gates will be crowded parking lots.

Use your calls, elk are still social and look for company and reassurance. It's a great way to locate and then hunt them :) the other day we were hunting down by St. Helens and it was windy as heck so just before sun down I started doing lost cow calls through by bugle and got a bull to come to my meadow, but would not show himself. They will talk to you if you get them excited enough :)

My daughter and I drove Hancock Snoqualmie a couple days ago and all the land is posted and closed due to fire danger.

still trying to find an area to hunt elk it does not have to be 520 just an area with access and elk that are chained to trees and sedated so if anyone has any ideas of some open areas with elk and access that would be great i know with weyco closing im not the only one pulling my hair out

Bowjunkie, try the Toledo sub unit of the winston, and specifically Layton Prairie off SR505.  Lots of private land there. You may be able to get access by stopping and asking around.
