This is my first season hunting, i don't really know where i'm going or how to do things.

Gray's harbor area. Ton's of deer out towards the coast. Just find a gate and start hiking. Good luck
It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

my advice is stick to the paved roads in rural thurston county, you'll see some nice bucks. Once you find the one you want go and ask permission to shoot it out the guys yard. sometimes they let you, and sometimes they don't. a nice bottle of scotch sometimes helps persuade them to let you take a crack at him.

Man, a little harshly said, but its true, its the best way to find a good spot, think about it, if people are telling you about spots were there are alot of animals online, that means quite a few people know about it.  Go were it looks like no one else would want to go.  Explore.  Just my  :twocents:

Hi Andrew! And welcome,

You could try contacting Ft. Lewis and obtaining a permit to hunt their land.Years back i hunted it with fair success. The Northwest Adventure Center is where we used to get the permits, you could try there first. Maybe someone on the boards is more up to date with it than i am.
