Canada, B.C
« on: November 25, 2012, 02:18:30 PM »
Went up to B.C. for the first time this year.  I had great hunt.  I hunted with Neil Findlay. Great guy to
hunt with. Pretty much showed me the area and let me hunt the way I like to hunt. PM me if you want
his info. The Mulie rut was full on.  I harvested this one on the second morning.  After I dropped this buck
a 2pt and spike got right after the doe. First time hunting the rut.  I will return next year.  I was quite
surprised how easy it was to take my rifle in and out of Canada.  I did have a Whitey tag also but the
activity really slowed on the whiteys.  I did pass on a small 4pt whitey that was hot on a doe.  The
weather also warmed up and then froze so it was like hunting on corn flakes!  Took the opportunity to
remove a fawn killer also.  Called into about 30 yards...it was a double but missed the second one on
the run.

BC is a great place to hunt.  I worked for A/Z Outfitters out of Windermere BC back in the 80's.  It was the most amazing, game rich country I'd ever been in.  Beats anything I've seen in any western state.  We went in 30 miles on horseback and there wasn't even a gum wrapper along the trail, nobody goes there.  We caught trout by the handful while standing on beaver dams.  I think it's pretty much still that way.  Nice buck you took there too.
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart
He made wide open spaces from the start
He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

Nice buck.  Congrats
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
