If you did not see him commit the crime, there is reasonable doubt.  You are not judge, jury, and executioner.  Sorry you got your camera jakced and I understand your anger but, posting the threat of vigilante justice on a public forum towards someone you don't know 100% took your stuff probably isn't the best move.

Did you call the sheriff????  Make any kind of report???  Give them a description of the vehicle?  You said you had a second camera, do you have his picture, to give the sheriff?

Just questions that pop into my head.. not making any judgement... but it seems that, that process would be first to come into my head.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

And for christ sake, delete this thread.  What if you come to your senses and decide not to go forward with this action and the person pisses off someone else who then slashes their tires.  All public internet evidence will point to you by keeping this thread open.

Since I am pissed about this camera the one up towards the top of North Fork got jacked too.  but that one could have been a hiker I hadn't looked at it in over 2 months but it was on a steep slope no trails near by and no signs of bear taking it off the tree.  And then three that will be burned up now.. SO this week *censored* this years trail pics are going to be low since I have only a few cameras left.

I didn't get a clean shot of them but did trigger on them!!! The bear spray in an old camera would be a great idea for this spot if the dude dares to come back...

Double J...I am not too concerned with someone slashing someones elses tires and them blaming me if it was not me then I have nothing to worry about.

Take the sd card if you really have to. but seriously if you ever find my cameras I will email you the photos you don't have to be a tool.

dude i feel for ya, friggin thieves, the only thing worse is a damn child abuser/rapist oh and a friggin RAT, i have had my house broke into and had a guy drive through my steel gat and take my boat and the dude was so dumb he didnt even know how to raise the main motor, but trust me when i say if i would have caught this guy he wouldnt have been able to take anyones stuff again, and the worse was when someone stole my little daughter diamond earings and my wifes engagement ring from my great grandma from 1850...... i wish if thieves were caught they would be dealt with like some 3rd world countries and the part that makes me laugh is when people say"if it was on public property then its open to the public to take" i got a feeling those are the types that dont mind taking other peoples stuff,,,, %^&**%$# thieves..... may BIG BAD KARMA deal the thieves a worse blow... :twocents:
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

I LOVE the idea of a bear spray bob/fake cammera! That is just awsome! Sound like a future money making opportunity!  :chuckle:  I think i'm going to contact some trail cam companies for shells of thier highest end cammeras!  :IBCOOL:

Well did you get what you were looking for out of your post? Was it sympathy or??? Because you couldn't really have believed:

1. The person in question is a member of this sight.
2. (even if he was a member) Threatening to slash his tires will get him to come forward.
3. Throw out I have photographic evidence of the crime, and he will come forward.

I mean I do feel for you I cant stand a thief, and too bad about the cam but really?

Be sure you have the right guy first.  Don't do damage by slashing the tires.  just remove the valve cores, and offer to trade them for your cameras.   :chuckle:  :chuckle:

No it was not but it doesn't do anything anyways last time I used a box it stood out like a sore thumb and the tree hugger that took it called me because my number was on it and they cut the cable off the tree and said don't hunt next to my property it is closed which it was not!  I figure the cheaper the cameras is the less there is to steal the better off your are.  Unfornutely the last time I put it out i used my external battery pack.

I have one of camera out and every time I go to pick it up there is a lot of anticipation.  First I am hoping that it is still there and second, I am hoping that there are some good pictures on it.  I understand your frustration.
