I like the Nikon Monarch's. A 3-9 x 40 would be plenty for a 270. I have a Nikon buckmaster sitting here on my desk that I pulled off another rifle 3-9x40. Needs the rubber eyepiece that goes on the end. Works without it. I think you can get these from Nikon for a couple bucks. Yours if you want it. I was considering putting it up on the pay it forward. You pay shipping or pick up. Just let me know if you want it.
