Vortex diamondback and you'd have never have had to do a thing to it.  Their warranty covers everything except theft, even if you drive over it, it's covered.  Good luck when you've tried the rest give the best a shot.

deep forks how can you say vortex is the best?? They have only been around a few years! I have no doubt they are good but the best i think not!

Me neither, for the money I'll take them anyday.  Schmidt and Bender smokes em along with several others.  I have an S&B on a 257 ultra lt. Roy and love it.  My favorite scope is my Swarovski Z5 in
3.5x18 with turrets on a 300 rum.  But for the money I've had a diamondback on a 280 or 4yrs now and like it a lot, but sure isn't the best.

Looks like Grandpa took great care of that 721 from what we can see. You're going to love that rifle's flat trajectory and light trigger squeeze. Regarding what Iceman said, while carrying the rifle on a long hike, I check the safety every time I change shoulders. A couple of times while carrying it on the left shoulder somehow the safety was switched off on my 721. I tend not to keep a round in the chamber on long marches.
