Sad news for the family.  Is it morbid or aweful to think that he ended his life doing what he loved, instead of in some ward.  GOOD FOR HIM!   Prayers for his family.   Thanks Brian for bringing this to our attention.

I thought the same thing.

I often tell my kids "it's not tragic to die doing what you love, a tragedy would be getting recognized for a long life in a nursing home with a long list of things you wished you had done."

Its not morbid, I only hope i go doing what I love and what makes me - me. Its still very sad news yet its better to go doing what you love than to go any other way.

As mentioned, I dont really know the family, but I hope for them, as I know would be the case for mine - If something ever happens to me and I were to pass while in the woods, my family would know that I died in a place that meant more to me then words could express or most people could ever understand.  It is where I always find my peace and a pray that is the same for him and his family.

I must say that although not surprised, I am touched knowing that I am a small part of a community of caring, selfless, people - and I am very grateful!

Kindest regards!
Brian

So sorry for the loss.  We are down here hunting in the Morton area and watched for him today.  Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Condolences form up north to the family, loss is never easy to deal with no matter the age or circumstances.
