going out to buy new boots today what do you guys use and why do you like them looking for mid warmth and waterproof

Meindl perfekts for me have had them for 4 years and still waterproof.  On top of that very comfortable and warm.  Just got a pair of kenetrek's also and I think they are going to be nice also.  The main thing is to get something that fits your feet but I would stick with the European boots they seam like some of the best boots.  Some of the other USA made boots are good also though just have not found any that fit me good.

Cabelas carries meindl and wholesale sports or whatever it is called now carried kenetrek's last time I was in there.  They are not cheap but will last a long time if cared for.

I've had good luck with Irish Setters. There in your price range
and they carry them at Sunbirds.

I have a helluva time finding boots that fit right.  My work boots are Danners and fit fine.  A couple years ago I tried those Danner Pronghorns and they chewed the hell out of my feet.  I ended up going with some of those Danner desert combat boots.  They aren't waterproof but are some of the most quite and comfortable boots I've used.

I need to also get some waterproof boots.   This offseason I'll also be on the quest to find them.

A little outside the $200 range, but I bit the bullet and bought some Hanwag boots this summer. Tough to do, but in the long run they will save me money. I had been going through 100-150$ boots every 1-2years, but these Hanwag's are going to last me a long time.

Asolo sasslong is what I have been wearing the last couple hunting seasons. They are waterproof, have great support, great traction, comfortable and warm in the late season snows. I have worn them in in all four seasons and they performed flawlessly. They are moderately priced at 200 dollars. You can pick up a pair from sierratradingpost.com

I have 2 pairs of Rockies. Have had them for years they work great for deer and elk hunting. I think they have 800 or 1000 gram insulate in them.

Asolo makes great boots, they were a real life saver for my ouchy feet!

I'm also on the market for a mid to higher end pair of lightweight, early season boots. My danner jackals have hit the end of their life.

I see Crispi looks to be a new player, anyone try a pair?

Spend the money and get kenetrek's you will love them.

I keep going back to rocky time and time again. I like that they are a little more stiff because of the support I need for my ankles and braces.
