Need help finding a peep sight...
« on: September 26, 2012, 08:13:51 AM »
I have been looking for a peep sight for my .338 marlin express off and on for awhile now. The problem is all the peep sights list that they work for marlin 1894's, 1895's, 336's etc none list 338 mxlr. So I'm trying to figure out which model of marlin is the .338 mxlr closest to so I can use that as my basis.... Any help?

If you have questions regarding which sight to use shoot Andy an e-mail. It's my experience that he will work with you. I am not affiliated with Skinner Sights just a fan of their products. The folding takedown case they sell makes a great Savage 24 case  :chuckle:

You're best off calling. I'm sure Williams has a few that will fit, they just aren't listed. Gonna have to actually dial some people up but I'm sure there's plenty out there.

hey grundy53, i dont know how close you are to the marksmans club at canyon and 512 but they can hook you up, they put peep sights on my old muzzle loader, it was the type that came on are m16A2s but without the windage dial, you were still able to adjust it left and right but you had to use a screw driver to loosen and tighten but it worked sweet, maybe they even have the windage ones that adjust by turning the knob now
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

Williams Gun Sight Co. is shown that it has a receiver type sight that would fit your application, also here's a write up for your rifle showing a Williams sight....
