I've had good luck with Irish Setters. There in your price range
and they carry them at Sunbirds.
:yeah:
They seem to work the best for me also so every couple of years I get a new set and am always happy.  I always have two pair, the new set and the old set and each time I get a new set I retire the oldest set.  Boots are tough one though you really need to find a pair that works for you, when you find a brand that works stick with it.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I've got a nice pair of Wolverine. They were a great deal since they were $30 off on sale. Very comfortable, warm and I have yet to have them squeak or scrub when walking through thick-ass brush.

I have gotten a couple pairs of Zamberlans I really like. The only place I have found that carrys a decent selection of better boots is a sporting goods store in Longview. I cant remember the name but its where I go for boots any more.

US Army issue Matterhorns for cold weather. Otherwise, what ever keeps my feet dry and is reasonable on my wallet. I learned a LONG time ago to let go of brands (except Dodge, well because Dodge is the Best  :IBCOOL:). Some of the best boots I have owned and hunted in are my US Army Issue recruit boots. Those bad boys are broken in something fierce. I also have 2 pairs of Rockies that I LOVE!!!!

I usually take 2 pair of boots out with me, depending on the terrain and the weather, so that I ensure that one pair is always dry (newspaper method when in tents and I have a boot dryer for when we are in trailers). Just make sure that you take an actual pair of your hunting socks with you to try them on!

I have owned a single pair of Danner boots I purchased probably 10 or more years ago, I don't recall the name but similar to the Grouse. I only wear them for a week a year for hunting. I just recently had them stretched by Danner and the uppers reconditioned. They have been awesome. Unfortunately they are too short now and will be relegated to work boots as I ended up with dead toenails last year.

I considered getting the same this year but went a different route...no real reason just wanted to try something new. I have a pair of Zamberlan Guide GT RRs on their way. I loved the fit of all the Zamberlan's, they fit my feet great. I'll let ya all know how they work out.

As a side note...I ordered them from a place called CCoutdoorstore using a new customer 17% discount (good through the end of September I think). Selection, service and shipping are phenomenal (so far).
