Great Scouting trip to RIMROCK GMU
« on: August 25, 2008, 09:30:44 AM »
So we left friday and got a TON of scouting done at RIMROCK.  what beautiful country and amazing high elk areas.
We drove 150 miles on most all the FS roads. Saw a ton of ELK and deer.  Not many people in that area which was really nice.
Things are starting to look pretty promising in this area to fill our tags. talked to some locals and got some good tips and will take these with a grain of salt.  We really had a lot of fun, even got some target shooting in and im all sighted in.  going back in two weeks with quads as we did find out the REAL rules from the naches ranger station about riding quads.  So as long as we trailor our quads up to the 4x4 trails its all good.  you cant ride on the FS roads at all with quads.  but if you trailor your quad up to the 4x4 jeep trails you can ride all day long.

cant wait to get back over there...now its back to work.
i will be posting some really cool pics pretty soon.
THE TIME IS NEAR GUYS!

What No Bark said... would be best if you waited until after the archery season to ride your quads all over the place or go before.  If you can avoid the 8th thru the 21st it would be best.  I am a bowhunter and am not hunting that unit but would probably be pretty irritated if I was.

I can totally understand, but i gotta do what i gotta do...i will really try to not be riding during season cause i am very respectful of other seasons even though i am not a bow hunter. i will still be walking the woods but i smell what youre steppin in about the respect thing and the quads.  8)   ...
thanks for the tips   :hello:

If its open and legal to ride the quads on the trail I absolutely would not have a problem with doing so. I would if I could. Buut I will just hoof it into my spot!

 :hello:

what do you mean only accessible by quad or jeep? there are alot of riding trails in that unit and they are a blast! I've spent alot of time in that unit and trust me you defiantly want to stay off the roads when you on your quads. which permit do you have? I got an any bull archery tag. good luck
