Ok well we have some party poopers on our hands so I will give you a rushed version.
My cousin and I hiked all over the mountain looking for our bulls only to not find a one. We had a bull bugle to us the night before and two nights before season but after that not another peep. One bull showed himself the mornign before season a little rag horn bull. I passed on a cow and a spike the first night of the hunt and a cow on the second night. The plan was for my cousin to leave early fri morning and not hunt because he had to work that night. Thur night rolled around and we saw a big bull (possible the bull I shot) with another bull not sure of the size right at dark coming up out of a water hole. these bulls got us both jacked and my cousin decided to stay just for the morning so he could maybe get a better glimpse of the stud we saw. Fri morning rolls around we could hear a bull bugleing from our tent. We went back to the same spot we saw the bull the night before and started to hike. Made it prob a quarter mile up the trail when the crashing started above us. We had just left a flearing and were on a trail that was only one person wide so I back around my cousin and listened to figure out where they were going to come out. One elk was going to come out in the clearing and the rest were coming down right on top of us. When the single elk committed and was going to show itself first I focused on where I thought it would come out. There he was a shooter bull I had no clue how big he was just that he was a shooter bull (pretty much any bull was a shooter bull due to the lack of elk we saw). He stepped into my small shooting lane at 25 yards and I let him have it double lunged and he went 30 yards and expired. Shot the bull at 7 and had camp back and heading down the moutain at 1.
