Cabelas used guns?
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:59:09 PM »
Has anyone here ever bought a used gun from Cabela's? I was at the Lacey store yesterday killing my lunch hour and was looking at their used gun racks, I didn't see anything that looked like a deal and alot of the guns actually seemed over-priced IMHO, are they firm on prices or can you negotiate?
Seemed pretty proud of there guns! :twocents:

They don't like to negotiate, never been able to budge them. Even when I point out that stores are selling the exact same gun only new for 50 bucks less. I'm tempted to sell them all my guns and then buy them new again and pocket the cash for a new scope.  :chuckle:

I check every time and occasionally find deals. Bought an excellent condition Carl Gustav for $375

I have seen some great deals on there used guns a few times.  My dad is friends with one of the guys that works the used guns department.  And he will usually come down on the price.

Oh there are steals in there once in a while. I almost picked up a sweet savage once but the wife shot me down. Almost got a sweet .22 pump but I talked myself out of it. I nearly snagged a sxs shotgun last weekend til I realized ALL the bluing was missing and there was rust showing near the action. Still nearly broke the zip tie to check but I figured it wasn't worth it. That place is nearly as bad as the local pawn shops.

When a store went in near me they went to all of the local pawn shops and bought their inventory and filled their used gun racks with the guns

I bought a Remington model 760 with a scope for 240  :dunno: I thought it was a good price, and I still do since they sell those things new without a scope for like 700  :dunno:

First one that I could not pass up but I always look. I figure new with the brake trigger and rings and base probably retail value of $1500 or so.
