cannon thanks, my whole goal with every step is to teach my son to do it right not be careless, or take chances, or wound animals for loss, im doing more teaching then hunting

bobcat- sorry brother but that was very careless with a 4 yr old..tisk tisk... to each his own but it was a bad idea, always plan ahead, otherwise be prepared, this was meant to be a short and fun scout/hunt AND I KEPT IT THAT WAY.. I followed the plan, and we were out and gone at dark. Yes i could of dropped that bear, but I followed my plan, another day no big deal.

My old man drug me around all over the place in the dark with lots of bears around. Thats what the guns for if need be. Its only irresponsible if you dont know what your doing. Things happen, its all part of hunting. Personally most of the guys I know who kill critters regularly including my self end up messing with them well after dark. Sure is nice to shoot them in the morning though and not have to worry about it. The decision to shoot will always be yours so no judgment passed one way or another from me on that subject, thats a personal call.

If you have a Nikon Coolpix type camera, take the card out and look at it on your camera. That's what I do. Ya don't need a card reader. :twocents: or a computer to look at your pictures.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I wouldn't take the camera home to look at pictures. Just take an extra memory card, and swap cards. Leave the camera where it is.
