Thanks guys.
My wife made a shoulder roast from it 2 nights ago and it was awesome! Far better tasting than deer in my opinion. Makes me want to go spend time and try fill bear tag #2  just to add more of that to the freezer.

Congrats! Nice bear! The bear I shot with my bow this year never made a "death moan" either.  :dunno: Maybe they react differently?

Congrats Jesse.
Hows the leg holding up? Is it rusting yet? lol
I am definetly sore and tired. Leg isnt doing to bad though, thankfully aircraft aluminum is fairly rust resistant. I did get it covered in bear blood and I'm not sure how that effects aluminum though.  :chuckle:

Just breaking it in!
Great story, thanks for sharing it with us, and nice bear. The pics of the meat are making me drool

I know you are supposed to let them get close in archery man, but damn did you have to let her eat your pants right off of your legs?!? Good looking bear my friend, enjoy all that tasty tasty meat.

September hunting can be horrible in hot weather so I have made it a habit of wearing "shorts" every year during early archery. Might be a little cold in the mornings but when it gets to be 80 out, your glad you arent wearing jeans.
And yes, she is definetly tasty!
