Muzzleloader Question

I read on a past thread that you can use a modern inline muzzleloader w/ 209 primer during modern gun season, just not during muzzleloader season....?  If that is true can you use a modern inline muzzleloader to hunter fall bear?  the regs are confusing... sorry..

i think so.  as long as you don't have a muzzy deer/elk tag with your bear tag during a muzzy deer/elk season in a muzzy GMU I wouldn't think there would be any issues.

I was just going to ask this question, since the op seems to have been answered I will ask another that is similar. If i want to hunt during modern with a muzzleloader, in a firearm restricted area, I can use a scope and 209 primer right? Also the breech wouldn't have to be exposed to the elements I would suspect?

I live in a firearm restricted area and there is some decent hunting fairly close to home. To be able to use a good muzzleloader would really up my odds.

Strickly modern, you'd be fine.    The fact its a restricted zone........now that makes it interesting.   Bobcat would probably be a good source to answer this question.  He knows the rules pretty well and is pretty well versed at blackpowder.

If I read the  regs correctly.  I believe you could use that Muzzy with the 209 in a restricted zone but don't quote me on it.  I also think the regs are confusing at times.

I don't think crossbows are legal at all in our state for modern season even.  Just for disable hunters that have proper ok from the state to use crossbows that cant use regular bows!

You are mistaken.  Crossbows are indeed legal in firearm restricted areas during modern rifle season.

Keep the questions going...  Can I put a camera on my bow during modern rifle season?

It is illegal to hunt wildlife with a crossbow except in firearm restriction areas during modern firearm seasons. There is an exemption for disabled hunters with a valid permit.

Muzzleloading firearms used during a modern firearm season are not required to meet ignition, sight, or double barrel restrictions.

It is illegal to have any electrical equipment or electric device(s) attached to the bow or arrow while hunting.  Now if you can find a non-electric camera...

Here is one for electronics on your bow.  I have a Truglow 5 pin fiber optics sight out has a led light that shines on pins is that considered illegal?
