Taneum can be pretty tough, with lots of private land where a lot of the elk are. I think I'd rather hunt Little Naches, since you have the option. There's a lot more area to hunt and it's much easier to access. Is it the muzzleloader permit you have?

I don't believe that Gator is legal anywhere in the Taneum. I really think you'd have a lot more opportunity to see elk from a road in the Little Naches. There's a lot more roads and a lot more places to hunt. Little Naches even has quite a few clearcuts whereas Taneum has virtually none.

Oh, are you talking about the Fish & Wildlife land? If so, there's not a lot there, and you can't cross over onto the National Forest, at least not legally. There could be elk in there though, it's worth a try. Is your season October 1-10?
I still think Little Naches is much better. You could hunt the roads there with a pickup.

I hate to say this (I like nobody in this state driving off roads and like the fact that the guy that gets out and sweats cant be passed by an ATV), but I think you can drive where others cant due to your disability. I was told that persons of disability cannot be discriminated against. I think with the right research and permit you can drive on non-green dot roads. Someone like you who cant walk should be able to get access.

The first 5 days of your season would be a great time to hunt in the Little Naches, before the general rifle season opens. I think you'd have a chance of finding some elk close to the roads, and being disabled, you're allowed to shoot from the vehicle.

You need to pick up a LT Murray Wildlife Area "Green Dot" map. You can get them at the WDFW office in Ellensburg. Bald Mountain isn't in Taneum or Little Naches. Sounds like you were in Manastash and/or Umtanum if you were around Bald Mountain and Clemans Mountain.

If i remember right thete are alot of gated roads in the little naches that only disabled hunters can access. The will give you a key or a code.
