Most counties in Washington, but certainly not all, have a parcel viewer linked to their web-site.  This allows one to see who owns the land.  If the county does own the land, and it is in a legal firearms area, then ascertain wether it is being leased or not.  Some leases can prohibit entry by all individuals unless authorized by the leasee, and some do not.  Most will have some verbaige disallowing uses contradictory to the purposes of the lease, this is a broad statement, and is amost allways open to interpretation.

Be advised that many employees of the assessors offive may give a quick answer which may in fact be in error.
