Bear down for Gutpile
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:29:28 PM »
As some of you know I love chasin bears. I absolutely love it. Last year though I broke my wrist right before the opener and was in the middle of a failing marriage so I barely hunted and didn't score. I had scored the previous 3 years though.

Anyhow Ive been up 5 times this year and yesterday pinpointed a major feeding area. I saw 2 bears in 5 minutes from a logging road and knew I was gonna score this year. So I took my new lady up with me this afternoon and found this guy 2 minutes after entering the feeding area. He's a heavy SOB real fat and healthy. Didn't measure him but he's a solid 5 footer and had to have weighed in a little over 200 lbs. 2011 was the worst year of my life but 2012 is shaping up to be one of the best.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
