Crazy Morning!
« on: October 02, 2012, 09:19:25 AM »
Came home from work this morning and couldn't find my two newly weaned bull calves.  They are only in a 100'x200' pen attached to my barn.  I came around the corner and the horses were staring at the edge of my property line at the brush.  To my amazement two wolves ran towards me.  I snapped a pic with the camera phone then ran into the house and grabbed my camera and a pistol.  I came back and they were still there just staring into the brush when out pops my two calves.  The brush they came out of was actually 8' tall blackberry briars which I thought was wierd.  Then all of the sudden the two wolves started chasing and hamstringing my calves.  I fired a shot to stop them.  I couldn't shoot at them cause they were right on my animals.  They ran off and I'm here showing you the pics.  Of course my card reader will not work but I plugged the camera into he TV and took some pics with my phone.  Pretty shaken up so say the least.  Oh ya I live in Castle Rock, Wa....

After thinking about it awhile I'm pretty sure the calves had been chased into the briars and the wolves were waiting for them to come back out.  They have manure all over their butts too and were pretty shaken up when they ran to the barn....

Skinner, do you mind if I merge this topic with our wolf sightings topic?

Also what GMU is that?

That is why someone needs to capture a pair of them and transplant them to the island of Mr. Ranker.
