Lost a shirt off my Tshirt today.   There is a reason I still wear cotton.

as for the rest of you guys.   Did you buy a mule or hire a sherpa to carry all this stuff.  :chuckle:

I have a couple of shirts missing sleeves too!

I haven't used my day pack yet this year. I'm using a reduced fanny pack that I started using last year. The top section expands to a blaze orange pack/game bag.
Compass, GPS, fire starter, space bag, one game bag, light wool gloves, alergy eye drops, benadryl, ibuprophen, duct tape, knife sharpener, headlamp with fresh batteries inserted backwards, one bottle of water, trail mix, dried Mango slices, granola bars. TP, bandana. A few extra cartridges.. I tend to take my cell phone as it is a pretty good camera.

Binoculars are on my harness. Knife on my belt. My wallet is not the daily carry, but rather a light nylon version with DL, Debit card, a little cash, concealed permit, health card, a few band aids.

In colder/wetter weather I'll carry the day pack with above items and pocket rocket stove, one fuel canister, or a pop can stove with pot and some noodle soup, rain gear, warmer gloves, wool beanie,

-Edit:  I forgot... The folding saw and a whistle are in there too.

I spent the last hunt I went on making fun of my hunting partner for having a fanny pack, as I have a full day pack and his little fanny pack was "cute" and "touristy".  When he finally broke and admitted that he needed to buy a day pack for his next hunt, I laughed and told him that he probably shouldn't because all you will do is put more "stuff" in it and have to carry it everywhere.

I carry about all the stuff everyone already mentioned.  spotting scope, video camera, point and shoot, and tripod if it hasnt been mentioned yet.
Well, I didn't drive 13 hours just to shoot once!

Hard to write a list because it's always changing. I think most others have covered it pretty well but here's a rough look at mine with just a touch of sarcasm and bs for good measure...

Water- When you've got that then go ahead and add some more water...and then maybe some gatoraide...and then maybe some more water.
Compass- A Good one, not that cheap'o on top of your hiking sticks. Something you can actually plot a course by.
Paper Map X 2- One stays on the counter in case I'm not back within x number of days.
Whislte- I don't know why I pack this stupid thing. It's just there.
Knife- Just one with a stone for day hunts. Longer and I might bring a backup and a saw.
20' Parachord- I find it's easy to go overboard and pack too much of this stuff. 20' should be plenty for most situations. 90% of the time it just gets used for boot laces anyways.
Headlamp X 2- I have 2 because of a phobia. I'd rather not say.  :chuckle:
Flashlight- Not neccasary with the headlamps, more or less a spare battery holder.
Spare Batteries- If you don't have a nifty little flashlight like me to hold them then I guess you could just throw them in your pack. Kinda lame if you ask me but whatever.
Orange Flagging Riboon- Again, don't bring a whole roll, 10-20 feet is more than enough to mark trails or tie to animal when packing out.
Windicator/Baby Powder- If you replace your windicator with unscented baby powder it serves dual purpose of checking wind and you can use it to relieve wet/sore feet.
Optics- Conditions dictate which ones.
Weapon and Ammo- Duh.
License- It needs to be said because I'm sure we've all forgot it at one time or another.
Identification- If I make the news as some guy found on a mountain, I'd like for them to announce my name and not just "some ugly dude" they stumbled upon.
Baby Wipes- This is my investment strategy. TP doubles in value for every mile off trail, but baby wipes have a compound interest rate of one billion for every mile off trail.  :chuckle:
Clothes- Wether dependant but usually include extra shirt and socks.
First Aid- Mine is just a few bandages, gause, self adhesive wrap, and disinfectant.
Lighter + Ignition Source- Bic with vasaline soaked cotton balls for me.
Space Blanket- It's a tarp, it's a sled, it's a sanitary work station. This thing does it all.

Anyways, that my day pack list minus food.

I second the "Space Blanket"  They weigh almost nothing and as Fair-Chase mentioned "This thing does it all".  I like the SOL blankets as they never stick together like some cheap ones do, they have instructions/orange on one side and reflective silver on the other, and they are more durable than most.  In real cold weather I also add a SOL insulated bivy bag.

Ultra Light rainwear!  I never put a pack on without it. One of the hottest days I ever hunted ended with a near hypothermic disaster for me. I shot an elk just before dark about 1,800 vertical feet below the truck and weather and temps were still around the low 90's.  After dark I could see lightning hitting the mountain below me (no idea where it came from) and rising up toward me.  Before I could reach the truck the temps dropped, lightning all around me and the ground got covered with hail.  About 100 yards from the truck I got so cramped up I couldn't even crawl any further.  I lit a flare to start a fire out of an old fence post and some sage brush.  Lucky for me my hunting partner and a smoke jumper were watching for me from the fire tower on the top of the mountain.  They carried me the last 100 yards out.

Leg cramps had tore me up so much it was painful just to simply sit in the tower watching them pack out my elk.  I was damn lucky.  That was the last time I've ever figured the weather was too good to leave my rain gear behind.  Even a few large garbage bags are better than nothing.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I carry a day pack with me.  Depends what I am hunting and time of year as to what might be in it.  Early season it may have some game bags and wyoming saw for getting a hide of an elk  and hung up quick, later season when temps are cold, then not so much.  Always I leave camp with my daypack water bladder full of 70oz of water, there are two knives and two road flares (they will light anything on fire) in my pack along with a space blanket.  Couple of small candy bars and some 20' Para cord.  Roll of black electrcians tape and roll of flagging, thats it.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I carry a bottle of children's liquid benedryl in case I step in a hornet's nest...again. Fast acting and drink it right down.

Here's my day pack, it does not change much unless a chance of in climate whether then I add rain gear or I might add my camera.
Ebelestock X2:
Mounted outside - Handgun, two knives, leatherman, GPS, binos on harness.
Inside -  64 oz water, munchies, shooting sticks, gloves, bone saw, small first aide kit, whistle, space blanket, Tylenol, ibuprofen, Benadril, Bic lighters and starter in ziplock baggies in different pockets, small and medium zipties, small duct tape, pen, paracord, drag rope harness, flashlights. A couple meat bags. I leave my main pocket empty.

I never carry TP, I find TP does not hold up well. Instead I pack Bounty-select-a-size paper towels folded up in many pockets, they work well even wet, lol. I also carry Preparation H wipes singles, both in my pants pockets and pack.
Cell phone, keys, tags, stay on me.

I pack my gun, a knife, ammo, binos, and water. There's no way I'm packing in that much weight!

X2 loaded as listed  (dry) =  12 lbs
64 oz water = 8 lbs
Total roughly = 19 - 21 lbs depending on food, lol

pretty much same, with a little food, pocket bible if I'm sitting for a long time, and communication device. biggest use of a backpack for me is to strip off the outter layers I start the 15F degree morning with, and pack water.
