Hunt weekend
« on: September 06, 2008, 02:47:33 AM »
I'm looking to hunt geese in the moses lake area. Is there anyone over there willing to help give me some information as to where I might hunt on public land. The last trip I took all the land that we saw was leased.
Thanks
Doug

It is getting hard to consistently hunt geese on public land around Moses Lake. There is so much pressure on public land around here now. Most of the other land we used to hunt is now leased. I still have a few honey holes left but they are also on private property.

hey thanks T-bone.......

Thank you for the "thanks" FishNFool; one of my main personal peeves is USERS (not you) that solicate info. and then omit the "THANK YOU". If I can be of any help; please PM me. The WDFW website is a tremendous tool: http://wdfw.wa.gov/

Also, visit a BLM Office near you for more public land info.

T-Bone, My house overlooks the part of Moses Lake that the migratory birds come to first. I will post when they start to show up.

Thank you, shorthair-on-point. My experience in E.WA has been that the shooting is good on local ducks for the first two weeks of the season and then it goes DEAD until the Northern ducks arrive. The problem late in the season is finding open water.
