Tanks back
« on: August 26, 2008, 04:00:09 PM »
Hey guys how have you been have I missed much.
Is that shyster Iceman giving you problems?
I've got this week off then back to work.(kid duty)
We've fished a lot and caught some but still no walleye. Used the lowe around O'Sullivan and the 10' Livingston the rest of the time. I really tried not to work around camp but ended up working anyway. Found more places to hunt around camp while fishing. Have been able to make the payments so I haven't had to rent out spaces.
For you who don't know I bought that wreck of a place between Winchester and Frenceman Hills canals on Dodson road.
It's the old Winchester RV park but that was in name only. The only reason I'm buying it is I like to fish and hunt the area.

Iceman I did clean and deep fry some carp and it was good but too much work. I have a family that watches over camp that wants most I catch.

Iceman I just went thru safety firearms training with the kids Gill (jill) is 9 and Ethan just turned the 5th. Man that's really different from what it use to be 16+ hours classes, then class at the firing line, followed by a night of test. The boy sailed thru it but Gill had a hard time but she wanted to go real bad.
They both passed so I put $ down and ordered two of the youth turkey, 20 ga,870 Remingtons. Have never seen one so they get what comes and that's all old granddad's going to do as far as firearms.
We'll leave for camp tomorrow morning then back to town so grandma can share the joy then I'll come home Sunday and that's the end of summer, then back to taking them to the school bus every morning
Gas just about killed me this summer, I know I'm not by myself on that one.
So I guess I'll be bugging you guys again.

Good to see ya on line Tank. I'll be out your way come duck season. First I have to quit my job, go hunting in Montana for a week or so and then maybe do some duck hunting before I leave for Hawaii to frame another house, but I'll be back in time to harass you some more. By the way I put this in bold type so all us retired fellas can read it without our grasses. :chuckle: :IBCOOL: :chuckle:

Thanks for the welcome back I have this week then it ends.
Kind of a trade off with drop kids at bus stop then the rest of the day is mine.
I ordered the guns and now I think of the dominate eye tests, there's a number of them and I'll be damn if they don't confuse everything we do.One will be here this week (shotguns) but I could get the other and start her shooting left handed.
Don't come back from lunch and in a week or so they'll get the idea.
I was hoping to be farther along with things at camp but what the heck it's not that important as long as I've got fridge, microwave, shower and shter and a dry place to sleep.
See Ya

Hey Guys it's been a short summer. The way times going by I don't see a use to put fishing (summer stuff away same with hunting stuff) I couldn't find where I put it and just get it put away then dig it right back out.

Well the long weeks at camp are over for the year. I checked my hiding places and my boat (the one Otto gave me) and garage sale carrie lites are still there.
Dan, I never seen the post by skinny butt was it here? I'm still wrapped with the insurance companies and attorney. I really don't care as long they leave me a lone. The wives BD was the 28th so she parked her car and the daughters and walked over to work, she gets there early. Everyone knowing it's her 60 th BD when out and really gave her car a going over, with balloons and TP, yep they got the wrong car  :chuckle:
Hey Dan who you calling old, I met a rock the other day that was a lot older.
Guys my sister the one that I make fun of well I can't anymore she should go back to the coast from Portland today. She lost her son to cancer when he was in his teens. Seems you never trust the first news because it's always (most the time) worse.
She's real sick and in pain with pancreatic (dan they have spell check here) cancer.
She's unlike me (I know Iknow who aint) and stays thin and eats healthy. She's 57. With mom in poor health in assisted living had one foot in the rest home before this. The stress won't do her any good.
I plan on making some trips to Tillamook these up coming months. If you guys want some cheese send me a check and wait by the mail box.
I spent most of my money on beer and women.
The rest I just wasted.

Some of the best naps you will ever take ae those in the woods.  Unless your partner snores like a buzz saw!  My old man snores so loud the animals clear out for miles, so when he wakes up, we have to move to a new area!

Dan
You didn't hear it from me but Mike can't either. Good thing he has help now.
 What about the fire?
The last one I set everything was going as planded then a wind came up from the east which never happens.
Now that fire burned my butt. I couldn't out run it and couldn't see because of the smoke but I knew there was a pile of rocks to my right.
Neighbor woman helped me put it out.Sheet Fire she acted like she did me a favor but by all rights she should have,by then it was at her place. If I knew she was going to act that way I should have went home and let her garage burn.
