Baker Lake bear success

Well Ive been waiting to get some fresh pictures for you guys before posting about my bear hunting trips so far. To sum it up weve been out hunting 4 times this season so far and seen 8 bear. The biggest being around 250lbs maybe a little more. Took some video of one but he was just to far for a shot around 650 yards. Last saturday we were sitting on the rim of a meadow glassing the valley and hillsides beyond. After about 20 minutes of glassing I spotted a bear a couple thousand yards out suning himself on the hillside, heading for a patch of reprod. He looked like a decent bear from that distance. Shortly there after we were below were we last seen him. My two buddies split up and I went with one with the camera in tow. We waited around for about a 1/2 hour with no sight or sound of the bear. I decided since I was gun less I would bird dog for the guys up through the thick reprod. After about 5 minutes of busting brush I here a crack and a thud. I crest over the hill and holering at my friend did ya get him, he yells back ya hes right below ya. I make my way down there and found the bear. The bear was on the run when he shot him, so there wasnt much time for sizing it up. Bear ended up only being a small one. I think its time to start packing my gun, just havent found a bear that I want to shot yet. Heres some pictures of the bear and areas weve been hunting. Enjoy

Nice Bear.
How do you expect to shoot a bear even if you do see one worth it, if your not packing?

Very nice area, I heard my first elk bugle at the base of the meadow on that Mountain two years ago. Saw lots of bear sign on the ridge that is in your last picture. I think it is to the right from the pic looking down-hill.
I miss that area.
Congrats.
