SE Washington Upland Bird
« on: October 09, 2012, 10:11:28 PM »
I have recently moved to Pullman with my dog and girlfriend. Been out to Colton shooting targets but was hoping someone had any ideas of good places to hunt around the area for birds o how to get started meeting the right  people to get to know the area. Thanks!

Another area is head towards Spokane, left towards St. John. There are some good spots back along the roads headed towards Rock Lake, and farther back also.
fear no fish!!

Anywhere around Colfax, Albion, Palouse. Just look for the green feel free to hunt signs and be careful not to hunt on the WSU biological study land (they're marked). I've been scaring up some grouse and quail in the area.

Thank you! I'm gonna take the girlfriend and dog out this weekend to see if we can scout out some good areas for future weekends. Also is chukar pretty rare in the surrounding area? Go Cougs!

Dude, you're within an hour of some of the best chucker hunting in the world.  Don't be afraid to venture into Or or Id also.  All so close (I'm envious as I get 10 hours of round trip driving just to get to what you have every day).
Happiness is an AA bread English Pointer, a pair of Lowa boots, Wingworks vest and an vast expanse of chukar hills.
