First Canada Moose.
« on: November 28, 2012, 06:18:44 PM »
On day 5, we spotted this guy up in a clear cut about 343 yards away.  Put 3 thru the boiler room and down he goes.  Fun hunt, we heard wolves howling, and saw TONS of wolf tracks, but no shots.

I went with Jim Lancaster at Copper River Outfitters.  We had a great hunt with first class accomadations and first class food.  Great bunch of guys to hunt with, I've already hunted with them twice and already booked for '13 with them.  I shot the biggest bull we saw, which isn't that big, but the weather was against us.  A local pilot said he was seeing lots of big bulls, but they were still up at timber line...oh well, we had a great time and went 3 for 3.

N BC?

Not a bad bull for BC. Wolves are a big problem up there now

Last year saw 8 cows and one calf. The cows typically have two calves apiece up there according to our guide. Heard wolves every evening up in BC.

Nice moose...some good steaks there.
If you love something you will set it free, if it don't come home, hunt it down and kill it.
