Well, As I said in my first post "I wish I had this girls luck"..Not sure if you read it but during turkey season she got her turkey within 15 minutes of her season.. now with deer season upon us she was ready to up her game and did she ever.. My sister dropped my neice off at my house friday afternoon and off we went to our destination.. I made plans to stay with a friend near our hunting grounds.. On our drive she told me I have a good feeling I am going to get a deer. I laughed.. Wow what confidence.. I was not sure I was going tomake it to where I wanted to by dark but we made it with little light to spare. Right away we saw 7 bucks.. This got us both excited.. went back to our gracious host place, sat had some beers and made our plan for the next day. with the plan in effect we went to bed to rest for the long day ahead..
Opening morning we find ourselves sitting in the dark for about 20 minutes. The wind was not coperating with what I had in mind so we changed it up a bit. We headed into the wind. Right away I see a coyote. A very tempting offer but I had to pass because I did not want to sound the alarm for what might be benind the hill.. Good thing I didn't after about a another 15 minute walk I spot 2 bucks.. I look for which one is bigger and focus in on him. we belly crawled in the soaked grass for about 50 yards. As we are crawling my neice stops to tell me she forgot her eye patch.. Yes I said eye patch. After practcing and many rounds of ammo flying and not knowing where it was going we found out my neice is right eye dominate but she is left handed. also she can not shut her one eye by herself so we have been using a eye patch and that did the trick.
So now we are ready but in order for her to make the shot I needed to cover her eye. As I cover her eye she says I cant see anything . I noticed I had the scope turned up to high. I turned it down and finally she was ready.. Boom.... The deer just looked around. and then the two bucks starting moving towards us not knowing which way the sound came from. I grabbed her gun took out the empty and loaded another bullet. she takes it and boom right in the bread basket.. after a little tracking I had one happy 13 year old girl.. Hugs and kisses and high fives..
Oh and one more thing after we were done with the gutting and driving out. the first 17 animals we saw all were bucks.. No kidding.. And thanks to Stacey for his great hospitality..

That's a damn fine buck let alone her first buck.
My first buck I was 12 and it was a tiny little forked horn that wasn't a fraction the size hers is but I sure thought it was a monster. lol
Congrats and job well done!!!!
