Trophy Mule Deer!
« on: October 14, 2012, 07:12:58 PM »
well its a trophy to me anyways!  :chuckle: watched this buck on the edge of a cliff for about an hour until he finally got up and walked away from it...finally could put three points on him so i laid my gun across a rock....boom! miss! low...i aim about a foot over his back....boom! miss again! so he just stood there...didnt seem too concerned that i was shooting at him and turned and started to just slowly walk back up the the draw towards me...so i thought well..ill just let him keep walking lol he walked about 20 yards closer and started up the hillside that is literally almost straight up and stopped...i was looking straight on at his back so i held the cross hairs about about 6 inches above his shoulders and let another one rip! that time he went rolling down the hill and landed right on top of his head and stopping right there, he was soo far away i the bullet hit him in the hind quarters right through his spine and hardly ruined any meat on the quarters....to say the least i am guessing he was about 500 yards away just from how much the bullet dropped! we quartered him out and carried him out in one trip and it was a tough one!! but we made it out alive!

Good job. Never matters how big as long as you are happy.  With that smile I'd say you are super happy!!!

Honesty is the best policy,  but insanity is a better defense.
