Dole Valley area ought to have some birds, or around Larch Mountain.

+1 on what bobcat said. lots of DNR trails in that area. I hunted a lot in the Larch Mountian are last year and saw several Grouse. Don't know about this year, since I haven't been up there in a few months.
The worst day hunting is better than any day at work!

Thanks for the info! I tried the western washington pheasants last year and find to many hunters for the area to hunt with a few birds. This will be my first time grouse hunting so I know my works cut out. Thanks again.

Just don't hunt grouse in Chelan County!!

Newtie,

I'm in Vancouver as well and relatively new to Grouse hunting.  Love to hook up and look for birds sometime.  I know a few spots in the area we can try out by Wahkiakum and I've always wanted to check out the clearcuts up around Toutle.

Shoot me an e-mail if you're interested.

Hunted grouse in the teanaway creek area this past weekend. Got skunked even with the help of a great bird dog. I'm not seeing the numbers of birds this year compared to previous years. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Clark County usually has the the most grouse taken in the State. It will be interesting to see if those stats. hold up.
